We encourage all applicants to attend our in person recruiting events during the fall, and apply early. We review applications on a rolling basis so the earlier that you apply, the more spots we will have available.

We are implementing a priority and regular deadline this year.

‍Priority Application Deadline (September 29th @ 11:59pm): If you are serious about joining our club and would like to give yourself the ability to avoid additional registration fees, please apply by our priority deadline. We guarantee that priority applicants will receive a decision by October 5th @ 8pm. This is to allow applicants who are accepted to add ME398 to their schedule prior to the beginning of the “late add period” starting on October 7th (add ME398 by Oct. 6th @ 11:59pm).

‍Regular Deadline (October 3rd @ 11:59pm): Applying by our regular deadline will grant you a decision on or before October 9th. If accepted, you will be assessed a $20 change of registration fee by UW in addition to the $250 ME398 course fee when you add it to your Fall quarter schedule.

In Fall 2025, the ME Department at UW began requiring all ME ESOs that do hands-on work to sign up for ME 398. This one credit class and associated course fee goes to the ME Department to provide liability insurance to team members, alongside supporting and staffing common shop spaces. RSOs also receive a portion of the funding annually.

To comply with this policy, we are requiring all members who participate in hands-on work for the team to sign up. Due to the non hands-on nature of our Business and Marketing work, we do not require B&M applicants to sign up.

Absolutely, we strongly encourage freshman to apply. As a freshman we understand that you may have limited or no experience, we instead place more emphasis on soft skills and eagerness to learn and contribute.

Yes! Our business and marketing team is always recruiting. Applicants with experience and interest in finance, accounting, design, photography/videography, and social media are strongly encouraged to apply.

To apply as a non-technical member, select Business and Marketing as the subteam you are most interested in joining on the application form.

We recruit as needed, but the main recruitment cycle is fall. Unless we need people, we don’t usually recruit during winter, spring, and summer. Make sure to look at Instagram for the most recent updates on recruiting.

Yes! The number of times that you have applied to our organization has no bearing on acceptance decisions. We ask that you continue to strengthen your resume and build on the feedback given to you by our executive board.
